The SPE’s Middle East Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainable Development Conference & Exhibition to open its doors to visitors on 22 September 2014Doha, Qatar, 17 September 2014:

22–24 September 2014 will see international and regional companies in oil and gas, HSE, and sustainable development, return to Doha for the seventh edition of the SPE Middle East Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainable Development Conference & Exhibition. The event will be held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar. Supported by Qatar Petroleum as host organisation and organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the event will be the largest society-led, oil and gas HSE event in the Middle East,and the first of its kind to include sustainable development as one of the core discussion topics.

“Today, there is no doubt that HSE is an integral part in the operations of the oil and gas industry. In this region, we’ve seen a gradual shift in focus from the implementationof standard HSE programmes to the customisation, continuous assessment, and consolidation of the same programmes as per each corporate entity’s requirements. The 7th edition of this event will provide an excellent opportunity for experts to discuss these issues and the associated challenges, both in regional and international contexts,” says SaifAl Naimi, Conference Chairman and Director of HSE Regulations & Enforcement Directorate at Qatar Petroleum.

 The exhibition will showcase the latest products, services, and technologies in health, safety, environment, and sustainable development in the oil and gas industry. Leading international and regional oil and gas companies will discuss their projects, HSE strategies and culture, best practices, field case studies, and their plans for future energy production.

 Environmental and marine consultancies will offer a variety of services that aim to research, measure, and mitigate the impact of activities on the environment. Technology and software providers will feature solutions for an entire range of activities from design to implementation to management to risk monitoring and assessment.

 Leaders in safety and personnel training will showcase their accredited courses and training services in health, safety, and survival training across the oil and gas sector. Medical solutions and healthcare companies will present their solutions and packages which include medical devices and supplies, medical personnel and equipment, clinical support, training, and assistance services.

 Security and safety companies will demonstrate their products and services in risk assessment, safety equipment, security, travel safety, emergency and medical response, preventative programmes, and evacuation services.

 The exhibition is free for trade visitors.
