Omani Products exhibition (OPEX) 2013 commences

Doha 17th November 2013: The 2nd Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) 2013 commenced on 17th November, 2013 at the Doha Exhibition Centre- Qatar under the patronage of HE. Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs & under the auspices of HE Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce & Industry – Sultanate of Oman.

The Exhibition taking place till 20th November 2013 is part of a national initiative spearheaded by the Organising Committee for Omani Products Exhibition. The Committee is represented by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).

OPEX 2013 seeks to introduce Qatari importers to Omani products and strengthen business ties between the two countries in terms of trade and export.  The event will witness more than 100 Omani companies participating at OPEX 2013 who will display a wide array of products from sectors related to Consumer products & durables, Consumer products – food, Engineering & Industrial goods, Interiors, Building & Constructions, Government, Handicrafts and Commercial. The timing for the exhibition is from 11:00am-7:00pm. Since OPEX 2013 is a B2B trade event, the event is restricted to attendees of 18 years of age and above. Children are not allowed.

This year OPEX 2013 will also incorporate the usage of new media and marketing tools specifically designed to facilitate excellent networking opportunities between manufacturers /exporters and importers. One of these platforms is the OPEX matchmaking platform introduced in the Sultanate of Oman for the first time. Through such new media platforms which facilitate excellent export results, the event aims to generate continued interest and further business networking.
