Qatari students expand horizons at EduCanada Fair

November 4, 2014 – Many students in Qatar and their parents came to the EduCanada Fair yesterday evening at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) to speak with Canadian educational institutions and to learn about going to school in Canada.

“We are very pleased with the turnout,” said Canadian Ambassador André Dubois.  “We believe that Canadian schools are some of the best in the world and we want to make sure that people living in Qatar have the opportunity to learn about them.”

Canadian schools offer high quality teachers and facilities.  The cost of a Canadian education is also very competitive.  HSBC reports that obtaining an education in Canada is less expensive than in other countries such as Australia, Singapore, the US, UK, and Hong Kong.  There are also scholarships at each school that students can apply for that could lower fees. This is why there were over 293,000 full-time overseas students in Canada in 2013. This makes Canada one of the most popular countries for overseas students.
