Sony launches new unique portable wireless server

Doha 16th August 2013 :  Sony, leading consumer electronics and entertainment brand has come out with a new and unique portable wireless server (PWS) that provides users with convenient options to view, share, and store content on the move or at home from their smartphones.

The device serves as a battery charger and card reader/writer, offering users added control when managing multimedia data such as photos, videos, music files and office documents. Users can transfer content utilising PWS as a convenient option for smartphones, especially for devices that do not have a memory card slot with a wireless connection.

The portable wireless server can also connect several devices via Wi-Fi at one time, allowing up to eight users to simultaneously share and playback same or different content. It also functions as a back-up power source for smartphones or digital cameras. Consumers can use the device for up to 10 hours of continuous MP3 playback. All controls are managed by the smartphone or tablet through the PWS Manager App which is available at Google Play or App Store.

There was no information available about the availability and price of the product in Qatar.

The PWS model WG-C10 will be available in the UAE from today onwards at about AED390. The device will go on sale in Australia and other markets this October with pricing and availability to be confirmed closer to launch.
