 Greater Doha Metro construction to be completed by 2018

Doha 26th October 2013: The Greater Doha Metro Rail, consisting of four networks- Red, Green, Golden and Blue line will be ready by 2018.

Some 80 percent of the network, which connects Messaieed to Al Khor and Ras Laffan through Msheireb and Hamad Hospital, will be underground.  The four networks will cut cross at Msheireb rail station, the main junction.

The first network, Red line will have 147km length. It will pass through 20 stations and will link Messaieed to Al Khor and Ras Laffan via Musheireb and Hamad Hospital in Doha and Lusail City.

Green line, the second one, having a length of 128km long will cover 32 stations and link Doha city (Musheireb) to Education City and the South Industrial Area and extend up to Umm Salal in the north.

The third network known as Golden will link Hamad International Airport to Al Waab city through Doha from east to west. This metro network will also pass over Musheireb, northern parts of Old Airport locality, south of Al Rayyan and Salwa Road.

 The last network, Blue line will be a semi-circular network. It will link the first three networks to one another. It will pass through the West Bay to the northern side of Hamad International Airport, and will also go around the C Ring Road.
