Doha 02nd May 2014: Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has raised the retail prices for diesel fuel to QR1.5 per litre at all fuel stations in the country.
Woqod, the Qatari distributor of oil products did not explain the reason for the 50 percent hike.
The previous price was QR1 per litre.
This is for the first time in three years, fuel price rises in the country. Petrol, diesel and kerosene prices were increased by over 25% in January 2011.
Local projects will get diesel at a price per litre of QR1.50 (same as retail price), while for joint venture projects the rate will be QR1.80 per litre. Firms not based in Qatar will continue to pay QR1/liter.
