Doha: Qatar Exchange index gained 86.94 points, or 0.69 percent, past week when the bourse closed yesterday at 12,607.60 points. Trading value during the week increased by 13.47 percent to reach QR3.99bn compared to QR3.51 bn last week.
Trading volume increased by 45.46 percent to reach 133 million shares compared to 91 million one week earlier, while the number of transactions fell by 0.33 percent, to reach 40,292 transactions compared to 40,426 transactions last week.
Market capitalisation rose by 0.85 percent to reach QR681.77bn as compared to QR676.06bn at the end of the previous week.
Real estate sector led traded value with 27.91 percent of the total. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 24.60 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 21.15 percent and Industries sector accounted for 15.34 percent.
Real estate sector led traded volume past week with 33.92 percent of the total. Telecoms sector accounted for 32.36 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 15.07 percent and Industries sector accounted for 8.84 percent.
Real estate sector led traded number of transactions with 28.7 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 23.44 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 18.08 percent and Industries sector accounted for 17.25 percent.
From the 43 listed companies 21 ended the week higher, while 19 fell and 3 unchanged.
Vodafone Qatar led traded value during the week accounting for 19.81 percent of the total traded value. Ezdan Holding Group accounted for 10.70 percent and Barwa Real Estate accounted for 9.88 percent. QNA
