Fire breakout at Old Airport area

Doha 02nd August 2013 : A fire broke out in an enclosed car park behind the DHL office at Old Airport area on Thursday. Three vehicles – a Nissan Altima, a Honda MR-V and a Mazda-6 were destroyed.


Cause of fire by an eyewitness was from a garbage dump at the corner of the parking area. It spread quickly to the vehicles.


Firefighters from the Civil Defence Department were able to put the situation under control. They controlled the blaze from spreading to the neighbouring buildings and vehicles parked in the area.


Hamad Mohamed Hamad Al Shahwani, an official from the Civil Defence Department, who was present at the site said the reason of fire will be closely investigated.
