Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi, the new president for Qatar Foundation

Doha 24th September 2013: Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has appointed Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi as the new President of Qatar Foundation and Mr Rashid Al-Naimi, the Chief Executive Officer.

Al-Muhannadi has been an indispensable part of the organization since its establishment in 1995. From 2005, he has been the vice president of Capital Projects and Facilities Management. . Al-Muhannadi is also a founding member of the Board of Directors at Msheireb Properties.

He has been responsible for supporting infrastructure at Education City, which covers 15 square kilometers and branch campuses of the leading universities worldwide. Education City has the largest number of LEED certified, environmentally responsible buildings in the region.

HH Sheikha Moza said, “In Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi we could not wish for a more capable President to continue advancing our mission. As one of the founding members of Qatar Foundation, he is steeped in the esteemed traditions of our organisation.”

She added Al Muhannadi has been with the organization throughout its incredible journey. She expressed her wishes to the new president.

“At the same time, I am delighted that Mr Rashid Al-Naimi will be taking up the key role of CEO of Qatar Foundation Investments. Throughout his career, including in his most recent position as Qatar Foundation’s Vice President of Administration, he has demonstrated that he is a natural leader. I have every confidence that he will be a great success in his new position, and I wish him the very best.”

Upon his new role, al-Muhannad said: “I am humbled, yet proud, to have been asked to serve as president of Qatar Foundation.”
