Doha 09th October 2013: The Qatar Ministry of Interior has achieved first place in awareness film contest in the field of civil protection and defence which is organized by Arab Interior Ministers Council every two year.
The prize was awarded for the awareness short film on marine safety featuring the need for safety measures for sea goers, produced by media production center at the Public Relations Department (PRD) of the Ministry in collaboration with General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD). The film also focuses on beach cleanliness.
Arab Interior Ministers Council Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman awarded the prize in 14th conference of heads of civil defence and protection agencies in Arab states held in Tunisia. Maj. Hussain Ibrahim Al-Asmakh, Director of Logistics Department at GDCD received the award.
Maj. Al-Asmakh extended thanks to Public Relations Department of the MOI for its great efforts in producing this short film. He also said that this is not the first time MOI gets in the forefront of security awareness. He mentioned that the Arab states are very much concerned on making awareness in civil defence field.
The PRD director Col. Abdullah Khalifa Al-Muftah stressed the keenness of the Ministry in participating awareness contests, adding that MOI has attained many achievements in this filed as the films produced by the Department are at high professional standards.
This is not the first time the MOI secures award in awareness contest. It had achieved various awards including first place in security media contest of Arab Interior Ministers Council in 2009, International Festival for Prevention of Road Accidents 2010.
