Doha 28th January 2014: Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday announced a temporary partial closure of the Jaidah Flyover in the Mushaireb area starting from Wednesday.
The closure is part of the upgrade and maintenance works of the existing infrastructure, which will include replacing the asphalt layer over the flyover and improving the structure to accommodate the increased demand of travelers in the area, according to Ashghal.
The closure will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will include the closure of only the east bound lane going towards Mushaireb area. The authority urged traffic coming from Jabur Bin Ahmed Intersection (Ramada Signal) and Salwa Road to use the ground level through Mushaireb Interchange located below the flyover as per the attached map. It will continue for two weeks.
The second phase of the maintenance work, which include the closure of and the West bound lane of the Jaidah Flyover going towards Jabur Bin Ahmed Intersection (Ramada Signal) and the Industrial Area will start from February 15. Traffic heading to Salwa Road and the Industrial Area will also be diverted to use the ground level through Mushaireb Interchange below the flyover.
