Emir arrives in South Korea

Seoul, November 04  - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived here today on a two-day state visit to the Republic of Korea.

HH the Emir and his accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Seoul Military Airport by the First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yong, a number of ranking Korean officials, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Mohamed Abdullah Al-Dehaimi and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Qatar Chung Keejong.
HH the Emir was also welcomed by Arab ambassadors accredited to Korea and the Qatari embassy staff.
Upon arrival, HH the Emir gave a statement in which he said: “Upon arrival to the city of Seoul at the beginning of a state visit to the Republic of Korea, it gives me pleasure to extend to President Park Geun-hye, Prime Minister Jung Hong-won, their government and their honourable people my sincere greetings and greetings of the Qatari people, together with the best wishes of continuous progress and prosperity to all of them and their friendly country.” “I would also like to express satisfaction over the development and growth in the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between our countries thanks to their common keenness on the continuation of the enhancement and strengthening of these ties in various fields, looking forward to meeting HE the President and the Prime Minister to discuss with them issues of mutual concern and ways of expanding cooperation between our two countries for the benefit of our two peoples.” (QNA)
