Doha 06th October 2013: Qatar Museum Authority (QMA) in association with the Hamad Women’s Hospital of Qatar assigned famous photographer Anne Geddes to initiate a photographic project in Doha featuring former and current athletes and children of different ages.
Anne Geddes is now working on generating a set of 12 images entitled ‘Healthy Living from the Start’, portraying athletes with newborn babies and young children, as part of an initiative by QMA Chairperson HE Sheikha al-Mayassa, in partnership with the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), to raise awareness on type 2 diabetes and the need for engaging in sports activities at an early age.
The athletes taking part in this project include Nasser Al-Attiyah, Sheikha Reem Al-Thani, Sheikh Ali bin Khaled Al Thani, Nada Arkja, Ali Al Mass , Hamad Al Hammadi, Hanaa Al Badr, Shaden Wahdan, Bahiya Al Hamad, Yassin Mahmoud, Maryam Farid and Moataz Majid and other local and former athletes.
“We are delighted to be working with the world-renowned photographer Anne Geddes on this important project that was the initiative of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa. Annes photographs are admired by millions around the world,” said Jean Paul Engelen, Director of Public Art at QMA.
This project can be viewed on the QMA and Facebook pages of Anne Geddes. Born in 1956, Anne Geddes is an Australian-born photographer, businesswoman and clothing designer. She is famous for her stylized illustration of babies and motherhood.
