Doha 06th April 2014: Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) organised the ‘Keep it Green Family Day’ at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park on Saturday.
A large number of families and tourists visited the park yesterday. The event provided them an opportunity to take a look at coast, sea and desert of Qatar, create a connection and appreciation of Qatar’s nature, and find some of the ways in which they can recycle and be creative. It also helped them to learn more about the animals and plants that grow only in Qatar.
Held in cooperation with the Quranic Botanical Gardens and the Children’s Literature Center, the event featured stalls displaying unique products from all over the world.
The ‘Keep it Green Family Day’ also included many activities such as planting a Sidra seed in a recycled pot, creating imaginative animal costumes out of recycled materials, engaging in interactive storytelling, and discovering what lies under the sea in a sensory water play activity.
