'Rest UponThe Wind' on Gibran’s life opens at Katara

Doha 10th September 2013: Katara Drama Theatre will stage a play titled ‘Rest Upon The Wind’ on the life and times of Gibran Khalil Gibran, Lebanese poet, painter and writer from 12 to 14 September. It will open at 8.30 pm.

The play covers life of Gibran in America as a foreign artist and writer, in English as well as Arabic. It is the story of his attempt to spread the message of love and peace, and how his adversities led him to follow the path to spiritual awakening.

Nadim Sawalha has written the script for the play and award winning composer Jules Deering has composed the original sound-score of the play.

“Khalil Gibran has influenced the lives of millions of people around the world. He is acknowledged as one of the great spiritual teachers of all times. I felt that the time had come to present a dramatic interpretation of his life. I felt that if we knew a bit more about him, we would come out of the theatre knowing more about ourselves,” Sawalha said.
