Hekayat Khaleejiya film series opens tomorrow

Doha 15th January 2014: This year’s edition of the Doha Film Institute’s (DFI) ‘Hekayat Khaleejiya,’ film series, a quarterly screening series dedicated to display cinematic voices from across the region, will open tomorrow at Museum of Islamic Art at.

The screenings will feature the films, Flight 13 (2013, Qatar) by Ahmed Bukamal; Al Kora (2013, Qatar) by Amal al-Muftah; and My Hero (2013, Qatar) by Nora al-Subai. It will also include a question-answer session with the filmmakers. The event will be held on Thursday and Friday, at 7pm.

‘The Flight’ 13 displays the experience of the Al Jazeera Sports Crew, when they entered a private airplane to fly between two cities, but its wheels failed to unfold in the air, before landing.

The film ‘Al Kora’ characterizes the attempts of a brother and a sister to get back a lost football in an old village in Qatar.

‘My Hero’ tells the story of a young boy who idolizes his busy father, and finds a smart way to spend more time with him.

Ticket for the screening are priced at 35 QAR and 25 QAR for students. Tickets are available for purchase online 24 hours a day.
