12 day Eid Al-Adha Festival to begin on October 15

Doha 03rd October 2013: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has announced the launch of 12 days Eid Al-Adha Festival, which will begin on 15 October, the first day of Eid.  Events will include international shows, traditional dances and musical performances for all ages.

QTA is offering a variety of travel and hospitality packages for attracting more visitors during Eid Al Adha. It has developed various programmes in cooperation with different tourist and cultural organizations, shopping centres and entertainment facilities in the country.

The partners for the festival include the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage; the Museum of Islamic Art, Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum;  the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, the Pearl Qatar, Katara,; Sawt Al-Rayan; Qatar Air Sports Committee;  the Imam Muhammed bin Abdul Wahhab mosque, Aquapark Qatar; and Al Dosari Zoo and the Game Reserve.

Rashed Al Qurese, QTA’s Marketing and Promotions Director said that the Qatar has a lot of attractions which make the country most favored tourist destination in the region.

“We look forward to showcasing these assets during the Eid Al Adha Festival, which coincides with this important religious occasion. We have organized a myriad of activities which will provide entertainment for all ages and give visitors a chance to enjoy many exciting events and create memories with their loved ones,” he added

Commenting on the organization of the festival with key partners, Al Qurese said: “We received strong support from public and private organizations in the tourism and hospitality sector in Qatar. Our common goal is to make the festival a special occasion that reflects the development of the tourism sector in Qatar. We thank all those who helped in the preparations for the festival and we promise visitors an exceptional experience.”

QTA has worked on all arrangement for Eid Al-Adha festival, including the reception of visitors at Doha International Airport and Abu Samra border crossing. Visitors will get program details for the festival at the time of entry to the country. They will be also provided with promotional material concerning different tourist attractions and entertainment programs in Qatar.

Visitors to the country are invited to see unique events and activities and feel excellent tourist services intended for the festival.
